Journey to Nelliyampathy
On Sunday, 31 March 2018, my friend Pradeesh and I set off for a much-awaited trip to Nelliyampathy, a picturesque hill station in Kerala. The road leading to Nelliyampathy was a thrilling experience, with its numerous hairpin bends offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. The lush greenery, cool breeze, and the promise of a peaceful day ahead had us excited from the moment we began.
Arriving at POABS Plantation
Our primary destination was the POABS Plantation, a renowned spot in Nelliyampathy for nature lovers. Upon arriving, we were greeted by vast expanses of tea and coffee plantations, surrounded by dense forests. The cool climate and the serenity of the plantation were refreshing. We took a guided tour, learning about the cultivation of tea and coffee, and enjoyed the calming ambiance of the place.
Exploring the Beauty of the Plantation
As we wandered deeper into the plantation, we were struck by the beauty of the landscapes around us. The rolling hills, neatly lined tea bushes, and the occasional sound of birds created a tranquil environment. We paused to take photos, capturing the lush green fields, and even tasted fresh tea brewed from the leaves harvested right from the estate. It was a perfect moment of relaxation amidst nature.
A Walk Through the Dense Forest
After our time in the tea and coffee estates, we ventured into the surrounding forest area, which is known for its rich biodiversity. Walking through the dense foliage, we could hear the rustling of leaves and the chirping of birds, immersing us completely in nature. The fresh air, combined with the sights and sounds of the forest, made for an unforgettable experience.
A Day to Remember
As the day drew to a close, we reflected on the peaceful and refreshing time we had at FOABS Plantation and Nelliyampathy. The beauty of the plantation and the calmness of the surroundings made it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The memories of that serene day will stay with us for a long time.
