The Start of Our Family Adventure
On Saturday, 13 May 2016, my wife Suneera, our two-year-old daughter Fathima Haniya, and I set out on a memorable family trip to Meenvallam Waterfall in Palakkad. The day was bright and perfect for a little escape into nature. With our bags packed, we were excited to enjoy some quality time together, especially since it was our daughter’s first real nature outing.
The Drive Through Palakkad
As we drove through the scenic roads of Palakkad, the beauty of the Western Ghats unfolded before our eyes. The greenery, the fresh air, and the towering hills filled us with awe. Fathima was especially excited, pointing out every tree and bird she saw along the way. The anticipation of reaching the waterfall made the journey even more delightful.
First Glimpse of Meenvallam Waterfall
When we arrived at Meenvallam Waterfall, the sound of rushing water filled the air. As we approached the falls, the sight of the cascading water surrounded by dense forest was mesmerizing. We stood there for a while, taking in the refreshing beauty of the place. Fathima, though too young to fully grasp it, was fascinated by the sound and sight of the waterfall.
Exploring and Playing by the Water
We found a safe spot by the waterfall where Fathima could splash around in the shallow pools. The cool water and gentle breeze made it an ideal place to relax and play. Suneera and I took turns holding Fathima as she dipped her tiny feet into the water, giggling with delight. The waterfall’s mist created a magical atmosphere, making the day even more special.
A Quiet Picnic in Nature
After some fun in the water, we set up a small picnic nearby. The calming sounds of the waterfall and the cool shade of the trees made it the perfect spot for a family meal. Fathima enjoyed her snacks while we sat together, soaking in the peacefulness of the surroundings. It was a precious family moment that we will always cherish.
Ending the Day with Beautiful Memories
As the day came to an end, we slowly made our way back, feeling refreshed and happy. The trip to Meenvallam Waterfall had been everything we hoped for—a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Watching Fathima enjoy her first nature trip was the highlight of the day, and we knew this was just the beginning of many more family adventures to come.
